OK, the title of this piece pretty much says it all, Maureen Dowd is a sexist pig. And don’t even try to quibble with me on this one, she spells it all out in her new book, “Are Men Necessary?” where she gleefully fantasizes about women eventually dominating men. What KILLS me about this kind of literary trash is all of the fawning in the media where every review misses the ENTIRE point of the book, that Maureen Dowd is a sexist pig just as surely as any slack-jawed, trailer park-livin’, tank-top wearin’ wife beater or oak desk, “I’ll let you have the vast honor of being my secretary and wait on me hand-and-foot but only if you’ll do me on my oak desk.”, suit and tie wearin’ executive. Sure, sure, she has received some criticism here and there but they all dance around the obvious. Ms. Dowd is a sexist pig and that explains why she is bitter and can’t get a husband. Women are not supposed to like sexist pigs, even though many seem to end up with them, and men don’t like sexist pigs either. I mean, let’s face it, if a guy was to write a book “Should Women be Kept Barefoot and Pregnant on a Farm?”, and basically expressed the sentiment that women were just too genetically inferior for anything better than simply being dominated by men; well, let’s just say that I DOUBT it would receive much, if any, praise or have people dance around the issue that the author was a sexist idiot. And when did this whole “women equality” thing turn into “I hope, I hope, I hope that one day women will dominate men”? I mean, if this is the true intent of the feminist movement then we men apparently need to reopen the can of wife beatin’ whoop ass that we have eschewed in favor of metrosexualism. I mean, I’m all for equality, but I’ll be damned if I’m going to be dominated by ANYONE. And if that, in Maureen Dowd’s sick, twisted little world of “dominate or be dominated”, means nipping it in the bud, so be it. Unfortunately for me, I’m not exactly sure who would come out on top between my wife and I. I’d rather not have to find that one out. Other than the whole sexist pig thing, I have some other gripes about this piece of trash, “Are Men Necessary?”, namely her logic and her reasoning. But even more than that, I find her claim that she doesn’t have a mate because she is too successful, too intelligent and too witty personally offensive. First, let me just say…HACK!…GAG!…Hu…Hu…HuuUUUUUUURL! Excuse me. Yo Dowdy, how about including “too full of your self” in that list as well? I mean, holy cripe what a load of B frigidity S. You won a Pulitzer like every other angry feminist author in this world, it’s not like you won a Nobel Prize or saved the universe or anything. Get over yourself. Yes, being a maid would have improved your chances with men because then you wouldn’t be so freaking BOORISH and in love with YOURSELF. You might actually have some itsy bitsy, teeny weeny, ounce of love left over to give to someone else, you narcissistic waste of human flesh. Sheesh! So anyway, I find it personally offensive because I married my wife BECAUSE she was successful, intelligent and witty, not to mention gorgeous. My wife has as sharp and sarcastic tongue as my own. Maybe better. The difference? She generally does not direct it at my gender or me. If anything, she generally dislikes the female gender for, apparently, similar reasons to Ms. Dowd in that many are shallow, catty, have poor judgment and taste. Now, I can’t get out of this piece without pointing out that her piece “Are Men Necessary?”, unfortunately, exhibits some of the flimsy logic and reasoning for which her gender is so famously and crudely stereotyped. Basically, she "reasons" that because men have a very simple, “pathetic”, Y chromosome versus women who have a second, complex, X chromosome that women are superior and will eventually dominate men. Couple of issues with this line of thought. First, you might as well point to the FACT that men have 10% more brain mass than women as a reason that one is better or smarter than the other. This kind of crap doesn’t matter. It is VERY disturbing and telling how much this “genetic” superiority argument sounds like it came straight from a "master race” Nazi or plantation owner trying to justify black slavery. Congratulations Maureen, you keep intellectual company with Nazi’s and slave traders. Very nice. And this intellectually vapid individual won a PULITZER?!? I have found a new low in my level of disrespect for the publishing establishment. Perhaps we need to give Adolf Hitler a posthumous Pulitzer for Mein Kampf? Idiots. Second, when did “complexity” become a “good” thing or a sign of superiority? I can tell you as an engineer, complexity is evil, plain and simple. Complex systems are more prone to error and failure than simple systems. Heck, NASA is even eschewing the horrendously complex space shuttle in favor of simple, 1960’s era Saturn rocket technology, for a return trip to the moon. Occam’s Razor ALSO sides with simplicity. I’m not trying to prop this up as one being better than the other, I’m just pointing out that making the logical leap from “complex” to “better” is dicey at best and piss ass logic at worst. A couple other quick notes about this “logical” analysis of Dowd’s. Another way to interpret the men versus women genetically argument is that even with less “genetic expression” men have STOMPED women for years in terms of “domination”. It’s called doing more with less. Obviously even with our “pathetic” Y chromosomes we men have somehow managed to pretty much excel at, oh; I don’t know, EVERYTHING! Finally, it’s not like men don’t have all of the complexities of the X chromosome. They have it, they’re just not redundant about it. And, in terms of genetic diversity, men have the X and they ALSO have the Y but women will NEVER have the Y. They have an X, and then another X. Redundant. And, besides, isn’t that what this is really all about Ms. Dowd…penis envy? I mean really, how juvenile. You’ll never have the Y and, apparently, you’re not gettin’ the Y. And boy howdy are you apparently sore about it. So anyway, apart from the juvenile digs, the whole point to this is that the world needs BOTH men and women. Both are necessary and both are equal, just different. And that’s a GOOD thing. What the world DOESN’T need are pinko, neo-Nazi, white supremacist sexist pigs like Maureen Dowd. And they gave her an effin’ PULITZER. Gall! |
