Americans seem to be mystified about why we are the primary targets of terrorism and hatred by Muslim extremists and their allies, like the French, Russians, Chinese and probably about three-quarters of Africa. Now, when you bring their allies into it, it kind of muddies the waters because the French are just complete assholes, the Russians are kind of stung from their lost days of glory, the Chinese have a huge overpopulation of males with a SERIOUS sexual organ size complex and the Africans just seem to hate everyone, especially each other. But, when you boil things down to their essence one core reason remains as to why everyone hates us happy-go-lucky Americans. And that reason is best explained by Warcraft. Now, for those of you that don’t know, Warcraft is a computer game. I am not a big computer game nut myself; I actually have some semblance of a life and do not continue to live in my mom and dad’s basement. But Warcraft is a very cool game. And I don’t even generally get into its “genre” if you will. I much prefer the “first-person shooters” like the original Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake, etc. I especially like “death match” and used to miss many a college class due to playing Doom death matches for three or four days straight. Warcraft is a much different game. The earliest one of its genre that I remember was called Civilization, which was another game that was abused aplenty on my college campus. You could also probably make some analogies to the “Sim” games but they just really weren’t the same. The concept of Warcraft is pretty simple. You have two groups, the humans and the orcs that inhabit a finite game world populated with land, water, trees, gold and oil. Those are the main pieces and parts. I may be forgetting a couple things, but they’re irrelevant for the discussion at hand. Basically, what you do is take the three or four orcs or humans that you start out with and you mine gold, cut down trees, collect oil and farm land. As you get more gold, lumber and grain, you can then build things like grain silos, catapults, towers, ships, temples, etc. As you increase your population and build different structures, you gain certain capabilities like the ability to build more types of structures and weapons and churn out specialized people such as archers, magicians and the like. Now, the goal of all of this is to wipe out the other side, which is essentially doing the same thing that you are doing. To destroy them, you have to wipe out all of their people and structures. What you quickly find in doing all this is that in order to win, you have to build more people, ships, catapults and other weapons faster than the other side. So you see where this is going. It becomes a war of RESOURCES. If your side can procure more wood, gold, oil and land with which to build more things and people, you can overwhelm and eventually defeat the other side. So, for all of you talking heads out there and other people that endlessly watch those talking heads blather on about why they just can’t seem to understand why America is so hated in the world, take a good look around. All of those brand new BMW’s, shopping malls, all the stuff in the shopping malls, etc. All of that stuff takes resources to create and the Earth only has a finite amount of many of those resources. Money isn’t the ONLY thing that doesn’t grow on trees folks. Most of the stuff you BUY with that money doesn’t grow on trees either. So, that is the world we live in, a world of competing groups that are continually warring over resources. And yes, it really is that simple. And no, it is not JUST about oil, although oil is a mightily important resource, it is also about people, knowledge, etc. Now then, the basic complaint against America is that we use an unfair share of the world’s resources. And you don’t have to look any farther than the acres upon acres upon acres of mid-twenty-somethings living in postage stamp size lot, $300,000 house suburbia with two beamers and a 4x4 truck sitting in the driveway to understand that there MAY be a kernel of truth to America sucking dry its unfair share of the Earth’s resources. Let’s face it, the system we have set up is capitalism. And, for all it’s good points, it has some negatives as well. There is a definite element of screw the environment and other people, just make money, get “ahead” and “live the good life”, just like on MTV Cribs! And it seems to be getting worse. We seem to be raising entire generations of individuals in this country that just seem to “expect”, or more specifically believe they are ENTITLED to, fortune and fame. And yes, TV IS part of the problem. We are constantly bombarded by idiot, flash-in-the-pan celebrities that go out and buy three million dollar houses and stock them with sixteen hot tubs, 42 different vehicles with spinning gold rims and 237 different pairs of shoes. Not to mention the special room dedicated as a temple with its own altar specifically designed to worship those pairs of shoes. And then these same damn idiot celebrities go around and buy jewel encrusted toilet seats and protest that nobody is helping the "poor". Grrr... Apparently, many people here in America see this stuff and think, “Oh man, my life sucks. I am NEVER going to get my own temple where I can worship my 237 pairs of shoes and thereby feel that my penis is larger because of it. Hell, I only have 16 pairs of shoes, a crappy closet and even with Enzyte just a couple of inches”. What you should be thinking is, “What a complete and utterly pathetic individual that they can possibly believe that those 237 pairs of shoes is what life is all about. Thank God I am not THAT blithering, self-deluded waste of human flesh!” But that’s not what many think. The evidence for it is all over “reality” TV. Here you have people that are so DESPARATE for fortune and fame that they are willing to sacrifice any last shred of human dignity to go on programs like Fear Factor or Distraction. Now, I am not generally a big fan of death, but if some serial killer or hit person wants to make a career out of knocking off anyone and everyone that has ever been on the show Distraction; well, let’s just say that I probably WON’T make it my life’s passion to go out and bring that person to “justice”. People that have that little dignity and self respect in pursuit of the almighty dollar are no help, and will never BE any help, to this world. Game shows are not supposed to be self-denigrating people. But all of those idiots on Distraction and their disciples aren’t actually the saddest part of this whole deal. I know, unbelievable, but they’re not. The real downer here is that its those IDIOTS that need their two shiny beamers and brand new 4x4 truck in their driveway that keep the whole American economy chugging along so that the sane people can find a crappy job with an asshole for a boss simply to support their modest lifestyles and their families. Isn’t THAT a pisser! As a side note here, I don’t technically fall into either of these two camps. I make it a point to find a job that I enjoy with bosses that are on the ball. My overriding goal right now is to continually strive to live on less and less income thereby providing me more employment options that will meet my income requirements and hence not live my life working myself to death and ignoring my loved ones. That’s just me. You have to understand people, even the poorest of the poor in America; the ones that live out of trash cans, would be considered the upper middle class in many of these Islamic nations where we are seen as “The Great Satan”. You never thought of it that way before, did you? You can only see that your life sucks because you have no temple of shoes. Me, me, me, me, me, me, ME!. Grow up! And THAT is why they hate us. |
